Pete Bevis and The Fremont Fine Arts Foundry

Pete Bevis, best known for being the founder of the Fremont Arts Foundry and for trying to save the ferry Kalakala, is photographed here in his studio before he sold it and moved on. He was a Quixotic figure, spending his life savings bringing the agent ferry back to Seattle. You can read more about his story here by Jack Broom, “Meltdown: Artist Pete Bevis sells foundry, arts center in Fremont”
